How to show my phone on the projector

There are two ways to display your phone’s screen on the projector.

1. Apple Airplay (iPad & iPhone only)

Check the phone is connected to MMR Wifi.

On the visuals PC, press the Windows key and type “airserver”. Click to run the app.

On the phone, open the “Control Centre” (swipe down from the top-right of the screen in recent phones). Press the icon for screen mirroring and select the visuals PC.

You can then drag the AirServer window up to the top-right display, which goes to the projector. Click here to learn more about the 4 displays.

Drag the window to display 3 for it to be seen on the projector

Double-click the AirServer window to make it full screen or change back to window size.

2. Google cast / Chromecast

Android and other devices can also connect to Air Server to display on the projector using Google cast or Chromecast.

Follow the same steps as for iPhones, but open the Google cast settings for your phone, rather than doing the swipe-down for screen mirroring. Different Android phones have these settings in different places.

Once you’ve told the phone to stream to the visuals PC, everything else is the same as in section 1 above.

3. HDMI cable output

Almost all smartphones will be able to send their display out to a video cable. This will usually require an adaptor. If you don’t have your own, we may have what you need in the drawer at the bottom of the PA rack at the desk.
